As the Scottish Parliament election approaches, Alexandra Chadderton is launching For Sc*ts Sake, a campaign designed to re-energise political engagement among 18–24-year-olds in Scotland. With many young people disillusioned by politics, Alexandra recognises the urgent need to rebuild trust and spark interest in the democratic process. Born in Scotland and eligible to vote, Alexandra feels a personal responsibility to motivate her generation. Research shows youth turnout remains worryingly low, driven by media mistrust and political apathy. Alexandra sees this as an opportunity—not just to engage her peers but to make politics feel relevant, relatable, and impossible to ignore. Using her graphic design skills, she’s creating bold, eye-catching visuals and content that capture attention and break through the noise of traditional political messaging. The campaign will highlight key issues affecting young people—like education, housing, climate policy, and workers’ rights—sparking meaningful conversations and encouraging informed voting. With party manifestos still to be released, For Scts Sake* will focus on awareness and accessibility. Alexandra’s goal is simple: to remind young Scots that their voices matter, their votes have power, and their future is worth fighting for.
