‘Print with Care’ is a call to action that addresses how emerging graphic designers can approach print design in a more responsible manner without harming the planet. The tangible outcomes produced are themselves an embodiment of these better habits in practice. The guide, that has been riso printed on a myriad of responsible paper stocks, is a compilation of research findings divided into four sections: type, paper, printing and binding. Each section provides detailed considerations and examples of how graphic design students can print more sustainably, specifically within this institution. The manifestos, which are made from handmade recycled paper printed using water-based inks, present these findings as declarations. The information provided in this project should inspire change through the power of knowledge. In the words of The Lorax: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing’s going to get better.”
