Designed By Her : Exploring Women In Design

This project explores the theme of feminism through a design lens specifically targeted to women in design. This project educates and allows for audiences to learn about the lack of female equality and presents audiences with facts and figures. Coming from different female designers from different design backgrounds this publication and set of posters allows for audiences to engage and understand the importance of equality and diversity in the design world. It highlights the negative parts to help combat and educate for future generations of designers. Created through multiple interviews with different designers, surveys with varied women of different ages, coming together to give their own opinions. Visuals made to represent data - pie charts but seen in a more digestible format, colour scheme curated to reflect the first wave of feminism and our female history. Created using letterpress printing, hand bound Coptic binding and digital manipulating text and images. Designed By Her is a important, education and typographic identity allowing a look into the world of design through a women's perspective.
