The Powerful influence of Japanese kawaii aesthetic

The word kawaii is a prominent part of Japanese culture, which translates to cute. Championing a youthful and positive outlook ‘kawaii’ embraces themes of innocence and nostalgia. My project explores the themes of kawaii translating my unique art style into a kawaii aesthetic. Using a range experimentation and design mediums I’ve created a project exhibition series which reflects a new side to kawaii in which ‘kawaii’ can be explored and viewed In a new light.
